Amnesty International Report 2001. 2002. Amnesty International. 5 May 2002 <http://www.web.amnesty.org/web/ar2001.nsf/webasacountries/INDIA?OpenDocument> Amnesty International is a very vocal proponent of the protection of human rights for the Kashmiri people, so much so that their vociferousness has gotten them banned from Kashmir and other parts of India. The annual report for 2001 outlines some of the atrocities committed by Indian security forces in Kashmir, as well as militants, some of whom are funded directly by governments of Pakistan and India. I focused on the India section because AI chooses to deal with Kashmir in the India section, but Pakistan comes under fire for its human rights record as well. |
