My Writings

The reasons why I have placed some of my writing work on the Web is because I have had the pleasure of reading the work of many others on the same media. While my work is far from the scholarly dissertations that about the Internet, I thought maybe someone else may have something to gain from reading my thoughts on these diverse matters, and even find time to correct me and thus give these works a constructive life of their own :-)

  • The RCC Database (RCCDB):
A database with a Web-interface to log serviced student computer complaints. 20+ users log approx. 1000 calls per academic year, which can then also be analyzed by location and nature. Recently added: Online application submission & retrieval.
  • Order of Gownsmen Online Voting System (OGOVS):
An online election/voting system for the academic honor society at the University of the South; has close to 500 members. Built using MS SQL Server & ASP/VBScript.
  • The Philosophy Department Website:
I am working on a new website for the Philosophy Department.
  • The Dead Sea Scrolls class website:
I helped Dr. Arnold Betz at the School of Theology to make his class materials available on the Internet.
  • Lexicographic Search Trees and their Applications:
This was my topic of research for my CS257 Data Structures class in Dec 1999.
  • Improvements in IPv6 (Internet Protocol version 6)
This was the topic of my presentation for my CS411 Networks class in Dec 1999. The site discusses various aspects of IPv6 as compared to IPv4, and includes the PowerPoint presentation I gave to the class.
  • History 394: Reconstructing the South
I did this page for Dr. John Willis at the University of the South.
  • Environmental Economics Station
I worked on this project under a grant from Associated Colleges of the South. Other people involved in the project were: Dr. Jill Hendrickson, formerly of Sewanee, Dr. David Anderson at Centre College and Stephanie Holbrook, an Intern at also Centre College.
  • Critical Dialectical Writing Project
This is a project conceived by ITW and the Philosophy Dept. at Sewanee. William Duncan developed the Essays portion of it.
  • The Wasteland Project
This is one of my favorite projects. Dr. Clarkson, the Chair of the English Department, had long been collecting references, translations and other material related to T. S. Eliot's "The Waste Land". The project converted them into an easy-to-navigate hypertext version, and the site even features "The Waste Land" being recited by Eliot himself!
